Save Money on Shop Work and Rebuilds

Most Shops will check out your Case, Cranks, Rods, Cam, Lifter, Pistons & Cylinders for the obvious at no charge, if your engine is completely stripped and cleaned.

If you are disassembling a case with 10mm head studs ( without case savers ) be sure to check the head studs before removing the heads. To see how to check->*Click

Don't expect the Shop to Pull Crank gears, Dowel Pins & Rods, etc. for nothing.

When you bring the case in for checkout or for a aline bore be sure to Pull the Main Bearing Pins, Distributor Drive and Fuel Pump Base. Q&A on Align Bore->*Click

Never file notches in the rods to number them.

If case savers are to be installed or if the case is to be cut for 92 cylinders, be sure to pull the cylinder head studs. This can easily be done by double nutting the stud.

If you don't have the proper tools let the Shop pull the Flywheel and Cam Gear off the crank. And don't forget to Pull the Flywheel Dowels out of the crank...

Easy to make flywheel puller->*Click --- How to check if the Pistons & Cylinders need replacing->*Click

---- A Clean Case can easily be checked for Cracks.----
If you don't have access to a steam cleaner, take it to the local car wash.
