Return to _xxxxxxxxxxxx_ fright prepaid. < Again & Again & Again > Read the warranty very careful as it is important what is stated and what is not stated in the Warranty. We have found this to work in most cases. First call the Builder and Price some Parts needed to build the desired motor. Get prices on the Case, Crank, Cam, Heads, Rods, and Piston & Cylinder Kit. Then add up the cost of these parts and add a little for the Lifters, Gears, Rocker Arms, Oil pump etc. Now if the Complete Engine Including Labor is going to cost Less or close to the same price as the parts you added up. You should now know that some of the parts in the Pre- Built Motor would not be acceptable if you could ck them out first. It's what your "Not told" or "Not in the Ad" that you have to worry about. Reground Cam and Lifters, Worn or Warped Cases, Loose Crank dowels etc. And that 10 Year, 10 Million mile Warranty is not much good if you have to Pull the Engine, Box it up and pay freight to Timbuktu 4 or 5 times. Some times there can be a big advantage to Local Built if the builder had the Knowledge and equipment to build it right. Engine building is an exact science. And too exact for many shop environments. It requires concentration, organization and cleanliness, cleanliness, cleanliness. It helps to use a work-in-progress chart to remind you what you have checked and cleaned. You must have the procedure down pat so that as you progress, the various components come together at the end to make up the whole.
