Question:--->  My clutch started slipping until the car wouldn't move, (it all happened in about one day) so I pulled the motor and since the pressure plate looked bad,  I purchased a new pressure plate and to be on the safe side a new disk. Put every thing back together and adjusted the clutch cable, Tried to back it out of the garage but it wouldn't move. I pulled the motor back out and checked everything, all looked OK, called the dealer where I got the pressure plate and checked every thing he suggested. Put it all back together and said a prayer before trying to back out of the garage. Decided God didn't like me or the prayer that much so gave up. Next step is to pull the transmission but not to excited about doing that. I need help and a better Prayer before starting.   Father Ted

Answer:--->  I don't think your going to like what I am about to tell you.  This happens, not very often but it happened to you. You have a brake drum with the splines striped out. Have some one watch the rear axle nut on both rear wheels when you let out the clutch. Chances are one of the nuts will be turning and the wheel will be standing still. Pull the drum and install a new one, then retighten the axle nut (250 foot lb's) and recheck it in about a 100 miles.  The prayer most likely paid off in some other way you never noticed.   Bishop Vic.

Question: #2 --> Thanks Bishop Vic.   My new question is. What should charge for pulling and replacing VW Motors. I became so good at it, I am thinking of starting a part time business on the side. God works in mysterious ways.   Ted
