vw@vwhelp.comE-Mail Questions with AnswersAnswer---> There are several ways to do this. Some recommend soaking with chemicals and others use a flex cable frayed on the end in a hand drill. (Old Speedometer cable or clutch cable) The way we recommend is fast and simple if you have an acetylene welder, if not you can get any welding shop to do it. You use the torch to heat the carbon up until it gets hot, then you turn off the acetylene and let the oxygen and carbon do the burning. (Acetylene turned off and using oxygen only) Not to much oxygen as the burning carbon really gets hot and to much oxygen can melt the runners. If you watch the outside of the tubes you can tell just where the carbon is burning. If the metal gets to red back off on the oxygen a little. Sounds iffy but it is really easy to do. Vic
