Question:.... > I bought an aluminum front end from (name not shown) and since they are a big advertisers in the back of  Hot VW,  I assumed they were OK, but I had trouble with the bushings. When I called them, they confirmed that the bushings were very poor quality, but they had some good ones for $18.00 a set, So I ordered them, but they didn't fit either. The beam is one diameter and the bushings have two different outside diameters. When I called them back, they assured me they were the correct ones and that's what I should use. Should I install them anyway and see if they work.   Bob

Answer: .... > "No I would not install them" We have had the same problem with the company you mentioned. We have made up a special fixture to cut the bearings to the correct diameter. Any machine shop should be able to do the job. We would also recommend drilling the new bushings so the grease can get to the inside diameter. Just because you buy parts from a big name is no guarantee you get quality parts. I would recommend spending a couple extra bucks and buying your parts from someone who has used or installs the parts they sell. Have a nice day. Vic.
