To open a Personal Account with PayPal, please follow these steps:

1. Visit https://www.paypal.com on the Internet.

2. Click the "Sign Up" button in the upper, right-hand corner of the screen. This will take you to the one-page registration form.

3. Fill out the form.

4. Click the "Sign Up" button at the bottom of the page. You will be taken to a new page.

5. Follow the directions to confirm your email address. Once you confirm your email address, your 
PayPal Account will be ready to use!

If you are experiencing problems opening a PayPal Account, please confirm the following:

1. All of the Contact Information is entered and valid.

a. All fields are required, except for your work phone.

b. If your address is not being accepted, you may access www.usps.com and confirm that it is exactly 
 the same.

2. Your email address is entered exactly the same in both boxes.

a. A valid email address must include the "@" symbol and end with a "dot" com, net, edu, etc. 
(Ex: yourname@email.com). Please note: There  are no spaces in an email address.

3. Your password must be entered exactly the same in both boxes. Please note: Passwords are case sensitive, must be at least 8 characters, and contain no spaces. Also, make sure that your CAPS LOCK 
is not on when you set your password.

4. You must select 2 different security questions and enter an answer for each one.

5. Security characters must be entered exactly as they appear. Please ensure that zeroes (0) are not 
being entered for the letter "O".

6. If the security grid is not showing, please refer to the following helpful hints:

a. Ensure that you are using 128-bit encryption for your browser.

b. If you see a red "x" where the picture should be, right-click on the "x". In the menu that pulls up,
 select "Show Picture".

Note: (Mac users cannot right click and should put their cursor over the red "x", hold the control button down and click the mouse. A drop-down menu will appear; select "Load Image".)

c. If you have speakers, you can click on the "Help?" link next to the security grid and listen to the 
security characters.

7. If you are using the "Personal Account" sign up page, please select "Yes" or "No" to the "Would you like this to be a Premier Account?" question. 

8. You will need to check the provided box to indicate that you have read and agree to the User Agreement.

Please note: All missing or incorrect information will be highlighted in red.

For security reasons, the password and password confirmation boxes will need to be re-entered. 
Those fields will also appear in red, even if the password was entered correctly on previous attempts 
to sign up.
